Installing Gauges...any tips?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm going to attempt a gauge installation this week sometime and wondered if anyone had any hints for the following sender location points.

Oil Temp...currently in the sump..is this the best place for it? It seems to make this a pretty low point on the car!

Also are there any particularly easy points/recommended to take these off. All senders are 1/8".

Fuel Pressure

Water temp

Regards

Nito

PS. There may be a Mechanical 60mm Oil temp and Oil press gauges and an elec HKS EGT for sale soon and an Ultra mechanical 52mm boost gauge.

NITO,

I don't know just how much this will help but......

Oil Temp, I think there is a spare port in the sandwich plate for the oil cooler ( I am sure that car has one). That's where my dual one is ( pressure & temp)

Fuel pressure. I have an aftermarkey FPR & there is a spare port in that. I don't know if your car is running a stock FPR. If not you will need to tee into the return.

Water temp- I have cut a tee piece into the bottom hose. Demon Tweeks sell adaptors, but I just used a 35mm copper tee with a 15mm centre then soldered in a bush.

Good luck.
