It's too dark.

I realise summer has gone and the days of it being light until 10pm wont be with us again for a while but this whole clock changing thing annoys me.

I'd much rather it was pitch black until lunchtime and then lighter at night, I don't care if it's daylight on the way to work but it's depressing driving home in the gloom, it feels like the day is already over.

Just curious really - would you rather have it dark in the morning, night, some other time or do you just not care?

It certainly does make the day seem so much shorter :( I really dislike winter. Apart from the fact it's good for business. The Supra is filthy and I don't feel like cleaning it when it's so cold. I'm just going to clean it then cover it up until March sometime. Then I'll have to walk home from work in the cold and dark. It's all rather depressing actually!

I used to work in an engine test facility that was a completely lined soundproofed building with no windows. So in the winter I went to work in the dark, sat in the dark all day and went home in the dark. I managed to see approx 30 minutes of daylight a day. Now that is proper depressing.

i take it you had to get vit-d injections then!:)

I love the idea of random darkness. Would it come & go suddenly and instantly or via the traditional sunset/surise method? This affects what I'll vote for so I need to know.

I think it would have to be a gradual dim situation really, otherwise people would die and stuff.

I feel I work better when it's dark. Since the clocks went back and it started getting dark before 5 I have found that my concerntration has improved and that I'm far happier staying later to get on with things.

I'm not sure why this is but each year is the same. It may have something to do with the fact while it's night/dark there really isn't a great deal else I could be doing other than stuff arond the house which I can still do when I get home again.

Therefore if it was dark during the day my work may improve, and once done at work you can do a few more things while it's light. Having said that it is a little depressing cming home from work in the dark. Possibly more so as you go to work in the dark also.

I am exactly the same.

If it was light when you got home & after a few hours it was time to go to sleep then you would have trouble getting kip because of the sunlight. One of my colleagues who works our nightshift for international support has blacked out windows in one of his rooms in his house which he calls "the dark room".
