wez_p
Discount tickets list! Forum name - Real name (makes our life easier when sorting out the £s ) 1. TDaxGav and SupraChick (Gavan and Mel) (What about kids??) 2. Robsheffield plus 3 (Robert S) 3. Wez_p plus 1 (Wes) i don't want to put anyone's nose out of joint on this but just my personal opinion with TOTB is that is really is nice to see people's road cars competing as opposed to 'something that arrives on a trailer has a 5 man team to prep it etc and then it goes back in the garage till the next event' type car don't get me wrong it's awesome to see the tuners cars too that i would only get to see on tv or in the magazines, just saying what i like about TOTB i know the rules say "All the cars that compete are road legal, taxed, tested and insured" but how much more brilliant is it for the car to be something that someone drives to work every day too!! crazy.... CJ
Hey, with any luck you won't be running at TOTB as you're off to Denmark with me!!!! I am definiately going to Denmark....was just posting in jest.
CJ
Bastard, can I come CJ what about that 1200 bhp welsh one?? Ah but was it built by Welshmen completely in Wales? Or was it imported especially from England and then rebadged as being built in Wales
Matt Harwood
Hey, with any luck you won't be running at TOTB as you're off to Denmark with me!!!! I am definiately going to Denmark....was just posting in jest. You lucky bugger CJ! I'm telling Keith IMHO, TOTB should be about the fastest proper road legal cars. In reality, it should be every day cars too, not just road legal as anyone that knows a friendly MOT inspector can get anything to look road legal on paper. Dudes car is quite a good example of this as he does use it as a daily driver. Its not a trailer queen. As I've always said in previous years, if there is a car that will out-perform mine, I'm more than happy to step aside. I have no idea what my car can do, as I've never yet managed to race it in full race trim. But last years TOTB, I managed to do 178 top speed and a 12.68, (after qualifying), with a slipping clutch in normal street trim, so I certainly hope theres more to come... We'll see
Alex
I think Dude, CRD and Leon's are the only people running Nutter spec stripped out drag cars....Terry's car is a road vehicle first and foremost and he's never said anything other than that...I believe Whiffin's & Envy's too are demo first, road second, drag/track third. The other people interested AFAIK are all running normal cars that they've improved out of their own hard earned wedge. Mine is and I will be trying to get a decent qualifying time...but I think I might out gunned though Monkey should deffo go, if his car is up and running...cause the boy can drive and well lets face it he's clocked a faster 1/4 than 99% of us. Matt and Ian C have similar specs and do at least turn up! Both of them have fixed the problems that niggled them last year and hopefully Ian will pray to the God of grip and get a decent launch (Just make sure it's not AT the timing gear - w0000t I mentioned it first in this thread - ha haa haaa). I think we'll need 12 car up there ready to go. Cause issue's always raise their head at the last minute. Dude's IMO is the only definate...after that I think I and everyone else interested needs to post a time. Inc Leon and PW and Envy. Dude made it to the shootout final so that's the reason he get's a by imo....CRD are in as stated as a tuner entry. But we need the times in by a given date. Would the end of June be too late? dude
Like I'd do that Can't wait now, this year with all the singles out there should be good. Has Darren put his name forward? PW I think is going bigger again turbo wise... Usmann? Slowdog/Paul? I could go on but it'll take a while! Gaz. PW's turbo is equivalent to the first i used ie a 67 Dude
Gaz Walker
The Envy car was running 12's when it was BPU, Im only speculating based on the apprent HP it is running? I thought it had or was close to maxing the hub dynos? Maybe Gaz can give us some more details.. having said that we all know BIG HP doesnt automatically mean a magic quick time either Just wanting a little debate... its good for morale It ran a 12 based on a crap launch, road fuel & wrong map (making it considerably less than 800hp). Then, it also had a lesser spec than it did now... All will be revealed shortly, I promise Gaz.
Branners
Proven times is my preference, a car with 600bhp and a crap driver will never get a fast 1/4 mile no matter what they do. My suggestion is that, as last year, proven times from the previous year count but nothing older than that. The big power guys therefore have entry already as Dude and Leon both ran sub 11s last year, Whiffy has run sub 12s and so has Monkey Mark, Christian ran a 12.14 so I would have said they are in the running. After that the proven times mean everything. Tuner or individual it shouldnt matter so long as the fastest cars are there. Monkey Mark has kept the 1/4 mile times thread up to date so we can use that as a guide. If we dont keep this in perspective its going to turn in to a bunfight with somebody throwing toys out of the pram and not going. So traders please behave yourselves. We all have to work in the same area at TOTB so we dont need animosity on the day. We are there to win as individuals and as a team. The clubs decision on who runs is final, if people drop out we reserve the right to put in a car we know can run hard and run on the day. wez_p
well, no matter who ends up competing it's gonna be awesome for the spectators, that's for sure!! i was there last year cheering for the Rover boys (being a 600 turbo owner) and was looking into buying a Pulsar at the time - over the period of the day i was just blown away by the Supras and it became my new dream car - this year i'll be turning up in my own

Kevin Huntley
Well I am looking forward to this years event, I think there will be an overall improvement on the times for all 10 competitors. The car ran a 12.5 at last years event (with problems) but there has been a whole load of changes since then. I will be taking the car as I did last year to a track b4 the event to set a new qualifying time just incase last years time is no longer good enough. The car will be running in full street weight and is not a drag car. The car is a daily driver and I use it for work everyday during the summer months. The car has been 100% funded out my own pocket for the last 6 years, hence the state of my personal finances, lol, wish someone had told me about this "tax deductable" plan that a few people keep going on about. The car belongs to me not the company and is insured by me personaly. The car may turn up to this years event on a trailor just to save on the mileage on the car and the petrol costs + setup time to get the car ready. It costs me a fortune coming down south for every event. I hopfully will have a bit of help from my mechanics this year as I wasted valuable time at last years event changing wheels and filling up with petrol myself. I guess its just down to my driving at the end of the day hopefully its up to the job! Does anyone else get butterflys on the line or is just me! Bobbeh
Just read that Steve Whittaker ran a 10.46 at 134!! So that makes him the 2nd fastest Supra in the country after CRD now.

Ian C
Can I reiterate if you want to run, please PM me with your car details, I'm not going to graze through this thread trying to figure out if you want to go or not MonkeyMark, that means you - you've got a lot of support here and you are the club giant-slayer so get your name down with me And it's not going to be an old-boy's network either, I'm gonna have to work for my place as I've only got a high 12 to my name - crap launching and that misfire means I can definitely beat that, but I have to get off my arse and do it! Now, let's work as a team and kick some skyline ass, rather than squabble over claimed power figures And yes, I get the shakes on the line as well :eek2: I also think there is a physical relationship between the colour of the tree lights and how heavy my clutch is... -Ian PS I may have to edit this thread for clarity eventually, so don't take it personally
