360 or PS3 for war games

360 would be better for online play as its a better community etc, but it costs. PS3 will have loads of online people too and its free, but the comminty feel to it all isnt really there in the same way.

Personally, I'd still get a PS3, but thats my personal reasons - if I was given an X-Box I wouldn't complain :) (until I saw the 3 rings of death lol ;) )

Get the PS3. If you don't like it you can sell it and get a new 360 with the funds.

Won't make much of a difference to you to be honest. The differences are minimal and petty, at the moment.

Not sure how much better MW2 holds up on the PS3. I have a feeling it might be using a bit more of the processing power than its predecessors due to them knowing how to write code for it now. If thats the case it will have the edge on the visuals.

Cheers for the info peeps.

Are the graphics basically the same for the PS3 ad 360?

Yes and no. Older games actually tend to be a tad smoother on the 360. Newer ones will get better looking on the PS3.

The technology has always been better on the PS3 but it's never had the games properly developed in order to use it. Starting to get there now though :eyebrows:

PS3 for me. Had a 360 elite on for a total of 3 hours and got rrod.

Had PS3 since launch and not had 1 problem other than the odd freeze.

Never got chance to try xbox live  so I cant compare the PSN with it.

For me though I've not experienced a probem with the PS network. Always connects alright and have decent connections on COD with 5 green bars. The updates download pretty quick and very rarely the connection drops unless if there is a problem with my router or if the mrs is downloading on her laptop.

I couldnt imagine a better service for free.

If you like your war games or first person shooters, it maybe worth checking these out,

All quality games, and cheap now too:

Killzone 2 £11.96 Delivered

Resistance 2 £12.97 delivered (the 1st is about a fiver now too)

COD MW, COD World at War are both excellent, and the new MW 2 released tomorrow.

You may like Uncharted 2 but this is a third person shooter rather than first but the online play is great with various game types and co-op missions.

Then thers MGS4, I'll stop now :taped:

Have a look through here: http://uk.ign.com/IGN to help find some other titles, and Here - this list hasnt been updated since July/August though.

Cheers

Agreed. This is exactly why I hate driving and shooting games on the PS3 - the triggers are awful.

I found the xbox analogue sticks to be really annoying and not as responsive/proportional as the PS3's. As you say though the triggers are crap but I fixed that with the 3 quid trigger extensions from game, now they're pretty good.
