gaijin
Just been reading about the Keating TKR.Looks bit like a Ferrari F40 without the wing. A GM 7ltr V8 with twin superchargers,1800(yes) bph, thats 225 bhp per piston, weight only 995kg. Top end 260.1 mph.Keating is taking it over to Bonneville Flats, thinks it should hit 300 mph.To order,£440,000.

It's already been to the salt flats, thats where it got the 260.1 The Keating TKR managed a top speed of 260.1 mph (416 km/h) on the Salt Lake Flats in California last month. Scott
Pretty sure to hit 300mph they would need around 2500-3000bhp depending on the aerodynamics. Seems optimistic. Good luck to them though.

gaijin
Have to agree Scott. On the site though it states 2000bhp as available.Still its beaten the VW boys at their own game.Pity the L-FA doesn't have more grunt.Still i wouldn't say no.For now my Supe is just fine.Over past week it seems to have attracted Rovers. The bigger models that is.Twice now, with diffferent different cars,i've had them chomping on my bumper;though not for long.Isn't mating season is it? What a thought a Supra-Rover love child.Think i feel a wee bit ill.

Thing is the Veyron (is) and the LF-A (will be) proper production cars which could happily run at their rated power for long periods. This will never be anything more than a custom-built glorified prototype, whose rich owners wont care if it breaks down now and then. I'd like to know how long for or how many times that 2000bhp would be available. If you have the resources its easy to make stupid power from a stock engine simply by whacking on a monster pressure charging system on it and making sure it has enough fuel to burn. The trick is doing is and making it reliable.
