I really cannot believe anyone's taking this seriously!

Let them win, let them bring out a Xmas no.1. Let them fade away into obscurity like most of the others, and we can look forward to next year's crop of tw*ts.

I definitely WILL be watching 'I'm a desperate celebrity, please renew my contract', starting next week, though! :)

Thought it was a singing contest? Hope it bites cowle in the a*rse and they win. What a load of rubbish, glad i dont see it often:blink:

Wrong. :) It's a money-making (for the producers and their financial backers, not the contestants) and TV-viewing-figures competition. By doing what he did, Cowell has just taken the Money Shot.

FWIW, my Facebook is full of simple people protesting like they've lost all civil rights, yet when something truly shocking happens in the real world, I get to find out what their 15th child had for lunch on Monday.

That sums up bookface for me, and sums up why I mostly can't be bothered with it. BTW, my breakfast of fruit 'n' fibre was yummy. :)

I don't like X Factor per se, and I never watch it apart from when I'm visiting friends on a Saturday night who do. However it is rather interesting seeing and hearing people's reactions to the show. I doubt it's what the producers have in mind, but you could view it as a psychological or social experiment, like Big Brother but a little more subtle because it is wrapped in the pretense of a "singing contest".

I admire Simon Cowell's business acumen and knack of herding the viewers to exactly where he wants them. As the public's outcry over the weekly results grows, so does his bank balance: not immediately as in telephone votes, but in terms of increased publicity and viewing figures. That's where the big prize is.

I'd be happy to see Jedward win, so much so I'm almost tempted to vote for them. Where's the harm in it? In terms of music variety, I don't think the UK needs another Leona-alike.

i think the voting is fixed, its been the same on all them reality shows like big brother and x factor, how are we to no the actual amount of votes that were made? for all we no that girl lucie could have been the most voted but the producers put her to the bottom, thats why i never ever vote as its a waste of time

ps i have to laugh atall the fellas talking about this across all the forums haha we all sit in and watch x factor instead of crusing or going to the bar lol

Simon is a very clever man and knows how to make money.

By kicking J&E out, the competition would have become boring and the media coverage of the program would have ground to a halt.

By keeping them in, they have hit the tabloids yet again and created a little controversy that will see viewers tuning in yet again next week to see what happens.

Well played Simon.
