RedM
It looks like some banks are suggesting users download and use a piece of security software called Rapport. It seems to be A&L, Natwest and ING Direct so far. There may be others. http://www.trusteer.com/product-0 I don't understand what it does TBH but I can imagine a near future when they will say "yes, we appreciate that you've been defrauded but you weren't using Rapport so we can't help you". Apparently available for IE and FIrefox on Vista/XP and OSX. No Linux version though which will be my get out. Anyone know anything more about this. marbleapple
I used to work on the phones for HSBC a long time ago. The customers were anal about security. The way I see it is that we as customers are protected by the bank against fraud, hence as long as you don't give your pin to anyone, its the banks problem not yours as they have to refund you. Pete
I'm guessing it some how sandboxes the browser and disables all but essential functionality for that transaction. I bet it won't work on my mobile devices though (or at work, or the cyber cafe, or.....)
