met my ex online 10 years ago, stayed in touch for 3 years and then at the end of August i got a text out of the blue and it was her seeing if i still had the same number. We decided to give it a go as we'd always got on really well, but she decided that the distance would become too much of an issue and we'd get hurt... so she canned me.

To be fair, Preston to Essex is a bit of a trek.

Bit of a long one i'm afraid.

Used to frequent one of the yahoo chat rooms. Decided to have a night out quite close to where I live so decided to pop along. When I got there one of the ladies had brought their daughter and her daughters friend with her. Got to chatting etc etc. Found out the daughter had a BF so immediately moved onto the friend. Spent most of the night with the girl and, when we went back to a friends, had a kiss etc. Asked the girls friends mum to give her my number... she never did... as the daughter fancied me.

Eventually she decided the BF wasn't for her so she ditched him and gave me a ring. Went through to see her a few times until it was official. 8 years ago now :D

Found out later the girl that I kissed puked up her bacardi breezer 20 mins before kissing me. Noiceee. Chazza still brings that up to this day... pardon the pun.

She messaged me...

I replied then didnt for 2 weeks :D

She gave me her number...

I txt her a month later

I arranged to meet her on night out...

I told her i wasnt after a relationship...

I was then suckered in :D

I think i tried to dodge this relationship as much as possible but whats meant to be is meant to be!

Met my girlfriend during a month long research project out at sea in 2007. Hit it off really well and kept in touch... then finally dumped our other halves in 2008 and hooked up during another research project in Borneo.

All this research project malarky is for our Universities; she works in York and I work in Manchester.

I lived in the same halls as my girlfriend at Uni. We met on the first day - her laptop wouldn't connect to the network and she asked around to find someone who could fix it. I was her geek in shining armour.

She had a boyfriend at the time but after 6 frustrating months she eventually came round. Six and a half years later, there still seems to be something she likes.

During term time we lived in separate houses but always close (although I pretty much lived at her place most of the time). During Uni holidays and since graduation we've always lived around 100 miles apart and only seen each other at weekends.

We've been together for 6 and a half years and never spent more than a few months living together at any time. Quite lucky really 'cause I'm terrified by the thought of commitment...
