Pioneer Headunits, worth the price hike?

For a while now I have been thinking about the AVIC-F900BT. It's quite pricey but seems to tick all the boxes of what I'm looking for.

However, while searching for that i came across the AVIC-F10BT.

I can see some little difference's in the above but nothing that explains the price hike from approx £700 to approx £1250.

Is it the fact that it does voice input?

The one thing I do like about the F10 over the F900 is the fact that the screen is bigger due to it not having the buttons & volume control knob. That isn't a £500 reason though.

Any insight?

I've also noticed that the pioneer range is quite extensive, but they all seem to do the same things....

F310 £639

F710 £729.99

F910 £889.99

HD3BT £999.99

F9110 £1,199.99

HD3-II £1,599.99

I usually believe you get what you pay for, it doesn't seem to be the case here.

Scott, I have a Pioneer headunit in my car and the difference in sound quality is very good. I don't have a screen one so I can not really compare with you but I can assure the extra dosh is worth it.

Also one of my friends brought a double din unit off eBay for 250, with all the bells and whistles. Find these cheaper units do everything, but at a such lower quality. The reason how I know this? He brought a 2nd hand unit off his mate (Pioneer) and it cost him more than the new one he got off eBay. The main big difference was the sound quality was much much better and also the screen quality was better.

After seeing this I thought if I go for a double din unit for the Supe, I'd ideally go with something like an Alpine or Pioneer so then I can have sound quality.

Youre misunderstanding me mate. All of the links I have posted are for pioneer headunits. I'm looking to get one of the pioneer's but can't determine what the difference is in the models in relation to the difference in cost.

The examples I gave show 2 nearly identical units that have a £500 difference in cost.

AVIC-F900BT FTW! Speak to Ellis, he has one of this in his Supra.

To be fair I think the F10 is better, I just can't see the justification in the price hike. I'm just wondering if there is something I have missed that is important, or whether they are just a bunch of greedy feckers.
