DSK
More so weekly, mainly to horn at idiots who straightline roundabouts oblivious to the fact that you have been alongside for some time and also need space
Luxluc
The horn is the favorite tool of my 5 year old son
Rob
Very rarely till last week, where I used it to alert the driver in front that they were sitting in a green-lit filter and should have been moving-off. Which made me remember that was an inappropriate use, as you are only supposed to use it to warn others of your presence, not as a rebuke. Who uses their headlights to "give way"? I try not to as much as possible, preferring a hand wave/gesture to signify other vehicles to move, but so many just sit there dumbstruck because they haven't been "flashed." I never flash to allow cars to pull out on motorways if I'm approaching, but then using it as intended ie "Don't pull out, I am approaching too fast" has the exact opposite effect of what I wanted. Thorin
Probably once or twice a week. There's a big roundabout on the way to work that's traffic lighted all the way round filtering traffic onto it. I enjoy setting off quickly when the lights change to green and beeping at the cars who nearly crash into me when they've gone through a red light. I think the rule of thumb is 2 quick flashes to let someone into your lane & just holding onto the beam if your approaching too fast for them to change lanes. I live in London so have to use my horns at all the idiot "students" (sorry moms) "mothers" & Cabbies! Not all are the same but cabbies are the worst who drive in both lanes... Mothers tend to drive into you or not notice you are at roundabouts or are running one tyre in your lane wondering if they have a flat tyre. Though saying all that I rarely use it because it sounds so gay! I have a fiat punto have a better horn than me! Also I avoid when its rush hour etc.

I do something similar on my bike - involving hand gestures!
