hadyn
Had my car decatted on Saturday. On a few occassions this week my cars idle has dropped to around 400-500rpm, has not died but has struck me as quite odd as it's never done this before. Any ideas on whats happening here? Seems to happen when the car is warm
Chiefgroover
I would do an ECU reset, cant g/tee it will cure it but it wont do any harm.
hadyn
have done an ecu reset on monday after disconnecting the battery for about 1 hour... after that the car idled so low it began to shake, but soon sorted itself out - i put this down to the ecu going back into relearn mode... has basically been fine all week for 200 ish miles just once this morning and tonight the idle dropped down to around 400-500rpm
penguin
Mines been doing the same thing.... almost feels like its misfiring at idle
hadyn
Plugs? Dodgy O2 sensor? I've got NGK coppers (mkiv.com reccommended) in at the mo, only put in about 1k miles ago
merckx
Mines been doing the same thing So has mine. Not very often though, I'm sure there isn't anything wrong. I've heard of this happening to a few on here!
hadyn
well pre-decat i've had this happen to me about two times in the four months i've had the car - so i put it down to idle control valve and nothing to worry about. It happening twice today has got me a little concerned Didnt feel as if it wanted to cut out, just felt low..... forgot to add im also running a walbro pump
jason m
This happened to mine following an e manage with a pass through map, but sorted itself out. I think the ecu just re learns what it needs to do.
penguin
um, using standard toyota plugs which i changed about 2k miles ago..... have also changed one of the coil packs...... had the decat done about 500 miles ago, and with restrictor ring.... my exhaust is pretty restrictive (i found this out after the decat was done, and didnt even hit fuel cut.. ) so have the vfcc which is to be installed, and restrictor ring is to be removed too..... i've actually noticed that the "missfire/low idle" stopped since i shoved the stock airbox back on..... had the hks superflow installed, which is going on ebay so i can fund a panel filter instead
hadyn
I've got the stock airbox on too Is this just a supra gremlin?
Samurai446
mine did this when i fitted the sld. Sorted itself out within a few hours of running
imi
mines died a couple of times today on the way to miami-GT....idle fell to 300 rpm.....YES 300rpm and then the beast had to be defibrillated and it was back again for 15-20 mins until it happened for the second time.... Not sure whether it is the coil packs? Spark plugs (they look ok) a couple of days ago I put in Tesco 99 and reset the ECU... AND I got the car decatted a couple of weeks ago - This NEVER happened before the DECAT. other than that I am out of ideas.
