jonathanc
Left my Supra parked for 10 mins and someone bumped into it and left a dent in the passenger side wing. The paintwork is fine though no scrathes etc just a dent that I can't reach to the other side to knock out. Is this self repairable of should I go to a body shop? Is it expensive? Any advice appreaciated Pics: Edited November 3, 2009 by jonathanc (see edit history)

michael
I'd be tempted to put a new wing on that
jonathanc
I'd be tempted to put a new wing on that Does it need a new wing ? I though you just have to resurface the dents. (Considering there's no scrathes or any defect to the paint)
Rob_Mitchell
could try going through more puddles to cover it up,, no serious i dont think that will just pop out needs to go to a bodyshop mate.

foggy147
It really pisses me off how inconsiderate some drivers can be, it' scary how many people do not look what they are doing when driving. I feel for you mate as I had the same thing happen to me in my old celica and I was wanting to rip the persons head off
michael
Does it need a new wing ? I though you just have to resurface the dents. (Considering there's no scrathes or any defect to the paint) You're going to be looking at some panel bashing, filler and paint on the whole wing, you might as well miss out two of those stages and just go for a wing and have it painted. foodfreak
That'll be a new wing, paint & blend into the door, bumper & maybe the bonnet to do it properly Silver can be a bugger to match, Sorry pal
evinX
dont let these money wasters fool you, thats is totally repairable, get a dent puller (suction type) pull most of the dent out, get a dolly (somewhat similar to a hammer;) get those deep little noticable folds out, skim of filler over it and send it of for paint. (obviously with sanding and smoothing, id recommend that if your familiar with bodywork. to be honest its like £120 for a new wing, probably £85-100 for a paint job on a panel...personally id sort that myself, its nothing big
Dnk
I agree with it needs a wing but our local dentmaster lad would possibly lose nearly all the dent but he's a rare one that'll have a go at anything and £35 a panel. Might be worth a call before you go the bodyshop route

SimonT
From what you said price wise there's only £20 difference either way so i would personally go for a new wing and just pay labour for the spraying rather than the labour of pulling the dents out filling, sanding and then spraying! Just seems quicker and easier that way.
Rob_Mitchell
i think the wing can be repaired by a bodyshop easily we do dents like that al day long, but looking at it its going to have to be pulled out and have a skin of filler, then obviously primed and painted. getting a second hand wing in decent condition then having it painted and fitted might cost less,
Lukeyboy2k
New wing all the way. Your car was mint so it deserves a proper job.
