jonathanc
I haven't actually owned one but a mate used to have a Beams Altezza. While I don't really agree with the looks its a cracking car. Pretty solid build quality too. As for reliability have a read here : http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/toyota/altezza/r113013/

jonathanc
Aye, its very hard to find a reliable review forum these days. There's several other links in the link I linked (!) that points to comments and also other review thread. But I guess the best way is to go test drive one I think Toyotas are generally very reliable cars anyway if treated well.

wile e coyote
I had an is200 sport great car not much leg room in the back and front calipers had same sticking problem as the supra which were replaced
jimwire
I loved my Beams Altezza (pics in garage). Piston ring went and I had to get rid. Have a look on the Lexus forum, lots of information about them there.
Guest Garfy
ohhh, this is a good thread, because I am going to be selling the supra next year, due to wanting to start a family, and this is the exact car i was thinking of replacing it with, anymore views out there? Snooze
The Aristo is better. Of course...... I might be biased.
Matt H
I prefer to IS200 to the Altezza. The rear clusters of Alt aren't nice at all.
Kirk
is300, good replacement for the supra cause you stil get the GE in it so its still sortof a supra
Guest Garfy
yeah, but part of the swap is to also reduce running costs, I will be putting lots of money into the MX5 turbo, so the other car needs to be a bot more sensible

Holden1989
Thanks for the comments and veiws guys, The aristo's are nice but im not looking for something quick, it literally needs to be big-ish, sporty but also very practical and not to juicy. The altezza im thinking of buying belongs to a trader on here, so hopefully it will be in good working order, ragged, but then, what car like this isnt. I'l keep you posted if i do buy, gotta sell my car first

edge
What about a big comfortable lexus gs300? or a lot newer IS200. A 54 plate with ahandful of miles can be had for about £5k - 6k.

US/canada had a 5MT version I believe
Abz
The IS200 is a very good car, its not bad on petrol and although not as big as the GS300 I think the rear seats have quite a good amount of room. They don't feel really quick in the standard form but performance is okay considering it is more for a refined drive. Here is a decent review of it: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/lexus/is-saloon-1999.aspx
