I'm going to write a Jilly Cooper

Charlotte

Recommended Posts

Ok, not quite but I am doing this:-

http://www.nanowrimo.org/

Basically the idea is to write a novel (50,000 words) in the month of November.

Bit of an ask but I'm going to see what I can do, even if I don't complete it.

The idea is to not edit at all, just do a first draft of 'your book' with all new material.

Anyone else with me?

Throw in some mescalin/LSD/Peyote and I'm in.

The Hunter S. Thompson way :D

A marvellous writer

...and purveyor(?) of bespoke chemicals.

Why all in November Charlotte? - Will it be bad if you over-ran into December? I'm thinking don't force the creative juices into a short time frame and all that...:)

I think it's part of the competition, must be done in Nov.

Yep - has to be done in November for this particular thing but you can do it all year round. I'm only doing it because of my uni course, the tutor introduced me to it. But we shall see. :) I have got loads of other stuff going on at the mo but I'm thinking I could sit down for a couple of hours a night.

Question is.... York, Harrogate or Ilkley!

It's from Harrogate but I've have sampled tea in all three and I like the locality of Ilkley the best. :)

Write in the style of e e cummings mixed with Bukowski, forget about punctuation and format and just flow

It's an interesting concept and I'm very very tempted myself. I'd have to go for surreal fiction myself but I think it'd most likely end up very discombobulated drivel :)

When he first opened up the forum page his heart started racing. Although there were dozens of names in front of him, just one stood out, it looked as though it was somehow glowing, illuminated in the late afternoon sunlight, it was the name he had read a thousand times before, but this time it was different.

"Charlotte"

He know if he read on, his life would change forever, but he simply didn't have the will to click the back button - he was hooked and he knew it.

Beads of perspiration ran down his manly back and his boxers seemed somehow smaller !

As he continued to read, his admiration for the woman who he had only fleeting met once in a thunderstorm at the JAE grew, he recalled how when they met, she looked like a Greek Goddess, with her tousled hair and dripping cammo's, but now he knew she had brains as well.

His admiration grew even bigger...

etc etc etc

:D

:) Do you have an opportunity within the plot line for the smell of burning leather, soggy jodhpurs and some random farm wench being pummeled by her pommel ?

Funny you should mention a pommel !

In my "other" (non car) life I'm known in a couple of clubs as "that b@stard pommeler" :D

"Pommeler" Epee fencer who holds the very end of the weapons handle (or pommel) to obtain greater reach, using distance and timing to obtain dominance over their opponent"

:) I was thinking more saddle sore than fencing score...

I find saddles strangely erotic. What do you think ?

Can't really say that they do anything for me, although "jodhpurs" I can see what you mean (although not quite as good as fencing breeches) on a nice young lady :)

I think you are having some sort of crisis, that's what I think ;)

I bit my tongue when you posted the photo of yourself by the Jag, looking like you were waiting for Jason King to walk by, but now you are swerving to leather and whips. I'll send some bromide over :) No loitering by the saddlery shop again please, confine your pleasuring to online at:
