Scott
What is it you are asking for? A program to rip the DVD's or a program to stream to the PS3?
Geo
What is it you are asking for? A program to rip the DVD's or a program to stream to the PS3? looks like Dvd(ripped to Avi) > Ps3 > (Streamed to Tv)? Might be wrong though
Scott
Yeah, but which part does he need help with. The ripping, or the streaming lol.

Scott
Ok, download TVersity and make sure you click yes to installing the codec pack. Give it a go with the files you have ripped using handbrake.
wile e coyote
ok mate ill try that now and get back
Wez
PS3 Media Server I believe is the only streamer where you can stream MKV (HD) files. http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/ Not tested it myself yet as I dont have any MKV content but a work mate says it works really well. GazzaGSi
As Wez said. PS3 media server is the only streaming software I use now for the PS3. Although if you are doing it wirelessly you may have to turn the quality down slightly in the settings for it to stream smoothly.
Scott
I use PS3 Media Server too. Its a little more complicated to setup than TVersity hence why I suggested it If TVersity works I would suggest taking the time to switch to PS3 Mediaserver. Tricky-Ricky
I use both PS3 media sever and Tverity, and stream my m2ts-AVCH from my camcorder, so i can't see them having a problem with DVD codecs.
wile e coyote
Ok i installed ps3 media server and works but does stutter but i am doing it wirelessly for the minute Now best way to rip a dvd to pc then and as what ? Like i said i have handbrake at the moment but for quality is mp4 better ? Cheers guys
Scott
For DVD's i would go with Divx or Xvid. Both can compress a DVD up to 700mb and still have reasonable quality. I would recommend 1-1.2gb per compressed DVD movie though, just so the quality is good. Handbrake should work fine. There are a few 1 click rippers but I'm in work just now so can't have a look. I'm surprised you are getting stuttering. Only things that stuttered on my PS3 was HD flicks.
Wez
I ended up using home plugs instead of wireless, they work a treat

Scott
Having a house built so will put a couple of ethernet cables in Think Wez means the power point access points. It plugs into a power socket, you plug your net into it and then you put other access points around your house... plugged into sockets. They use your mains power wiring to fire the signal around the house. Not far off of Lan speeds too.
