Gaz Walker
Plenty, lots of turbo kits - Power Enterprise and others, Celica engine conversions (2ZZ-GE) and more. 200+ hp with the PE Kit depending on boost. Gaz.
michael
http://www.mr2roc.co.uk might be of interest - quite a few turbo cars around the UK now (Mr Whiffin had one) and a really interesting project with a Veilside kit, 19" Racing Hart wheels and a tuned 3S-GTE lump in progress... I'd consider a tuned one myself if I could find a comfortable driving position, the seat just won't go back far enough. Visuals need a bit of agression added too but nice little cars. http://www.megaboost.co.uk/old/pics/mr2/mk3/veilside-fortune-mrs-00.jpg http://www.megaboost.co.uk/old/pics/mr2/mk3/veilside-fortune-mrs-01.jpg

Paul Whiffin
I sold awhile back I'm afraid, nice car that one, http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/mrsturbo.htm I've also done a few customer cars now, see here http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/mrsblackturbo.htm and here http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/mrswidebody.htm Cheers Paul
hadyn
My fiancee is after one and I quite like the idea of her having a real RWD sports car How good are they? I know the 0-60 is 7.5. Do they handle well, are the spin issues of the old MR2 resolved? Usual toyota bombproof reliability?

The old spin issues were just down to amateurs who didn't appreciate the MR configuration The MK3 is a lot more forgiving than the MK2 though, it's back to basics like the MK1, lightweight and very chuckable with great handling. On paper performance doesn't really give a true impression of it's abilities - I passengered in one in the mountains around Santa Cruz and we kept up with 300 and 400bhp MR2 turbos with no problem, it's just the straights were you lose out but a turbo kit can sort that Very reliable but a few issues with the early cars, a few tales of them dropping all their oil, wheels losing their finish, brakes rusting but all resolved I believe - http://www.mr2roc.org is probably the place to go for all the answers you need.
