Mcgoo
****Update with EBC fitted on post 7****** Had the car on the Dyno back in June but never got around to putting it up. J-spec TT6 with BPU mods (exact spec in garage). Car has done approx 120k miles. My restrictor ring gives me 1.2 bar on a coolish day in 6th @ WOT. It was a warm day and the run was done in 4th gear so the mechanical boost gauge showed a gnats c*ck over 0.8bar on the run. AFR hit 11.5 before going on the rich side to about 10.5 and the EGT gauge showed about 850*C. 329.8 HP 273.5 RWHP 344.3 Ibf.ft Torque Seems about about right for the 0.8bar boost right? If all seems good, I may treat myself to an EBC in the near future to get full boost in the lower gears. What do you think? Mcgoo
Only a smidgin over stock boost so thats good fella! Looks fine mate, in fact, excellent considering the mileage. Cheers guys, thought it was about right but its good to hear someone confirm it. Its amazing how much power they can still produce even with higher mileages as long as they are look after. Very nice mate. Excellent printout too. Ta, I'll let the guy know who done it. He hasn't had the Dyno too long so he will be pleased to hear that. EBC next then. That will be fun! Mcgoo
Get the EBC on there mate, you'll be surprised at the difference at 1.2 bar Well I fitted an EBC and went back for another run. As you can see it was a VERY hot day so I'm pleased with the result. It peaked at 1.13bar and settled around 1.1bar. 374.9 FWHP 307 RWHP 344.3 lbf.ft Torque Graph below. Homer
Looks like a good result especially with the heat issues. Any plot for the AFR readings?
Mcgoo
Looks like a good result especially with the heat issues. Any plot for the AFR readings? No, unfortunately that wasn't working. I was watching my wideband and EGT gauges very closely though as I have been having issues recently with running a bit lean at WOT on boost. See here; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=219406&highlight=running+lean AFR's were; 2k rpm to 3.5k @0.75 bar = 12.5 - 13.8 Transition 3.5k to 4k rpm = 13 - 14.3 4k rpm to 6500k rpm @1.1 bar = 11.3 - 12.1 - 11.7 EGT's were around 900degC then just crept up to 920 @6500rpm so we let off. (Thought I read on here above 950degC is possible damage territory?) Still running a little lean @WOT so going to replace my fuel pump and if that doesn't improve things the FPR.
