My First Track day

I've never done a track day in mine simply because its an auto, now iam thinking i can have just as much fun as the manuals.

Or am i wrong??

It can't be more "mint" than MrT's although I did see a small wet leaf sticking to the bumper after lap 42

 

Re Manual v Auto, we were both auto's, and whilst I'm sure as I do more trackdays I'll wish it was a manual to increase the fun factor, with BPU and a wet track I was grateful for both the auto box and racelogic !

There is a deal you can get where you do the morning trackday, then get a mini-bus to the Festival of Speed in the afternoon (without doubt the best car show you'll ever go to).

 

If we could get a Supra booking in I'd be up for that.

I must say, Goodwood was a dream to drive around, so smooth with lovely fast flowing bends, would recommend to anyone to give it a try! As Gerry said we both drove auto's, and i still had great fun trying to get that perfect line through the corners. Also was using the overdrive button to click down to 3rd gear on approach to tighter corners, which helped a bit with engine braking and kept the revs up in the right place to pull through and out of the corners and just clicked back up on the straight's. Prob not as good as a manual but it worked for me, and i am still smiling from a great day:) (dont worry Ged, that leaf was gone by lap 44!)

yeah he looks like he has a clean one there too, so might give it a go when i get the rear tyres sorted...cheers

I've worked at both the revival and festival of speed but never had the chance to drive the track.Iam usually setting the cars up for it, last year it was the Green focusRS for the hill climb.

well i did drive a gt40 there years ago but that was out of lord marsh's place and into chichester:d

 

I hear whart your saying about the gearshifting in the auto:cool:, but i think my problem is that i will get carried away and end up stacking the car[sHOCK][/sHOCK]...well let see what happens once i get the rear tyres sorted.
