ray007
HI Guys, need some advice please I have an na which had a TT engine installed. it was delimited so goes over the 110mph(180kph). however as the clocks are the origional na's clock after 110 the needle just keeps going but i dont really now how fast im going - looking at the space between the reading is seems im doing about 140mph when the needle nearly reaches 0MPH again and thats when i normally let go. any solutions to this??? Could I use clocks from a TT??? or how can i sync the clock and maybe just change the dials?? any advice will be much appreciated
Terminator
What gear box do you have? You can get the clock to sync, there are a number of devices on the market that would do the job.
Homer
The NA and TT clocks are the same and interchangable. There shouldn't even be a speedo issue with auto/manual conversions. I'd have thought it's an issue with the sensor wiring from the box and/or a speedo convertor. As termi asks, was the box swapped?
rick001
when i had mine converted i had TT clocks put in as the Tacho is different from the N/A and would read incorrectly - if your n/a was manual and you have used an auto TT for the conversion this might also cause issues (not 100% sure, but im sure the techies will put you right) HI Guys, need some advice please I have an na which had a TT engine installed. it was delimited so goes over the 110mph(180kph). however as the clocks are the origional na's clock after 110 the needle just keeps going but i dont really now how fast im going - looking at the space between the reading is seems im doing about 140mph when the needle nearly reaches 0MPH again and thats when i normally let go. any solutions to this??? Terminator
All the ratios in the box and diff must be the same for the speedo clock to work as fitted standard to the car.
stevie_b
From what I've read it sounds like the problem is nothing to do with the NA-TT conversion, but simply driving the car at a speed beyond which the speedo can indicate. This would happen on a delimited original TT or a delimited original NA as well. Fitting a decent speed converter should solve your problem. With that fitted, when the needle points to 180 you'll be doing 180mph, not 180kph. If you need to indicate speeds higher than 180mph you'll probably need a different speedo dial (and a long runway to let it get there!) Jay_vr6
i expect he has a 110 mph speedo face over the original 180kph. hence 110mph is nearly at the bottom of the speedo face. just get a thor speedo convertor and whip the 110mph face off. or am i being silly ??
