ozz
My dad gave me a silver metal case containing a minolta camera and some lenses years ago that belonged to his dad and said I could sell them though they were probably worthless. I never got round to it but decided last week when I came across them in the attic that I would sell it for him for his birthday. Was hoping maybe £50 was achievable. Anyway, listed it and it ran for a week and bid upto £70 with a day to go. Don't know why but I checked similar items and its turns out one of the 250mm lenses is very rare and that it alone is worth £300-£500!!! I had misdescribed the lens in the advert, as it had another lens attached to it which I didn't realise and I had the wrong name. Obviously I've cancelled the auction and will check if my dad wants to keep it or if I relist with proper description. Would have been gutted if this had sold for £70 and I'd found out afterwards as all the money is going to my dad anyway. Its a Rokkor 250mm 1:56. One of, if not the first telephoto lens!
