Fatism

I doubt it took much of an arm twist for you to regurgitate your yellow fish vehicle.

The prominence of 'Matt H FTW' is now lost in background so it's missing the point now.

You've brought me round... for now... :innocent:

Agreed, it could be much bigger.

Fixed for now. There was something, pure, about Matt's original though so I'll change to that shortly.

I know alot of people who weigh 18stone that are no where near obese, muscle weighs more than fat and all that

I was shocked reading that story, very sad world we live in now :(

Sure, I am 14 stone but not particularly fat.

It's a sad world we live in for many reasons. It's sad she is so damn fat, and it's sad she was beaten for no good reason.

Oh come on. You think it's 18st of muscle? But yes it is a shocking story.

I think people are looking at this a little wrong.

I read this as "nutter attacks woman". Not "an otherwise up-standing member of society attacks tubby woman".

A woman in her 30's travelling alone decided to beat up another person. That's not normal!

OK she beat up a woman who was overweight, but lets face it, if you're the kind of person that would take it upon yourself to start laying into a random commuter, it's not whether or not the commuter is a large old unit or not that's the problem.

I imagine the woman who decided to hand out the can of non-edible whup-ass was going to attack anyone who stood out.

My brother has bright blue dreadlocks that come down to the middle of his back. He stands out and as a result he has in the past been attacked. Do we need a specific law to protect poeple with scutty hair?

The fact that someone was minding their own business was beaten up is indeed sad, but let's face it, it unfortunately happens to lots of people everyday for lots of different reasons.

This is indeed how it should have been spun.

Obese people are a completely different conversation - attacking someone when not defending yourself or for very good reason, is not called acceptable.

Agreed. If the victim was black or asian then it I bet the story would have been about a racial attack. Even if it was nothing to do with colour/obesity, then whoever the victim was, it would have been prejudice against them for whatever reason they felt they were being attacked for.

Maybe the racists and discriminatory people are the ones pointing out colour, race and obesity to the rest of us, and stirring the shit.

I'm getting Deja vu :D

3 threads, all with similar issues and we come to the same conclusion. The racist isn't the person innocently putting up a poster with singer who is black advertising a new monkey tarrif, its the twat that points it out as they clearly see it from a racist perspective.

I remember years ago, i had a RFC chain on my neck. A guy who is a Celtic fan noticed it and said i shouldn't have it on as its bigoted. Yeah, that makes sense, I support RFC and wear there merchandise so that makes me the bigot. Not the twat pointing it out and making a big deal out of it.

If only the rest of the UK would come round to our way of thinking, the media would make a massive impact on racism if they chose to start pointing the finger in the right direction.
