formatzero
Has anyone had a 350z if so how does it compare with the supra, seen some old threads but nothing current,i know it wont be as quick as the tt but it has the bhp edge on the n/a,is it reliable
Abz
I raced a 350z once...beat it by quite a lot on a straight! Ops I have a TT They are reliable, pretty good cars. They drive very nice, handling is very good, gearbox is impressive, brakes are awesome! They do drink but it's expect from a 3.0 V6...very smooth. I nearly brought one as they are gorgous looking cars, but the Supra is something else!
Gaz6002
I have a lot of experience with the car, but not as much as Chiefgroover by all accounts. My take: The engine is lovely. Great V6 sound, and very responsive. It suffers a bit at the higher end of the rev range though, becoming a tad asthmatic. A TT Supra will destroy one in a straight line, as you rightly say. The chassis however is amazing. Very nicely balanced, and controllable without being harsh. I've heard people who really know their cars talking about how the 350z will be the collector's car, whereas the 370z is for the rich boys. I haven't had a go in the 370z yet so I can't say, but I trust the opinions I've heard. FWIW, Gunmetal 350z with Veilside teardrop exhaust and Nismo 19" Rays wheels = epic win. The only thing i know you have to look out for is gearbox problems, and there some recalls which you need to make sure have been done but i forgot what they are now... My girlfriend wants the black one which are a little harder to come by but if you dont mind silver or gun metal there are loads for 7 to 8k Oh and avoid 2004 onwards if you can because you hit the £400 car tax ! lol check this site out, really nice people on here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/portal.php

The engine came from a renault vel satis http://faimg1.forum-auto.com/mesimages/208738/renault_vel_satis_2001_02_s.jpg thats as uncool as you can get. I stand by the 370z, a much better car all around IMO
Jezz
We look after a supercharged 350. Would kill a stock TT Supra in a straight line, but about on par with a BPU. Great handling, very responsive. Toyed with the idea of getting one myself, but i'd have to put a BC 4.1 engine with the PE Extreme TT kit. 800bhp in a great handling car. Kirk
well we all have our own opinions i just much prefer the 370z but i wil admit its not as good looking as the 350z in my personal experience i find it very tiring to drive, i find it to handle no better than an NA and to be honest not all that powerful. Just something about it that just doesnt quite cut it with me
mplavery
well we all have our own opinions i just much prefer the 370z dont get me wrong , if my missis could afford the 370z we would get that in a hartbeat ! but the very expensive
Gaz6002
The engine came from a renault vel satis The design borrowed features, Auto Express would have you believe it's the same unit. Your argument is flawed. Nissan and Renault have been sharing ideas and designs for ages, mainly because they build different cars and enjoy different markets. The partnership is now very much an official one, and I can't see a problem with it. The VQ35 engine is a peach. Have you driven one? Just because the 2JZ was used in the Aristo, does that mean it's only good for large family-sized cruisers? How about the Honda VTEC engine? Only good for hot hatches? An engine is an engine, regardless of the car it goes in. Oh, what about this? Obviously it's a crap engine, because it's in a Golf!

Tricky-Ricky
I am actually thinking of getting one as a Supra replacement, provided mine sells, i have also stated a PX in my add, trouble is i have had a lot of trouble finding one to test drive in my area, and i still haven't tested one yet, as i am not prepared to drive 100+ miles just for the privilege. I think they are a pretty good looking car, and my idea is to still retain the RWD experience with good handling, but slightly better fuel consumption, but also slow me down a bit;)
jonathanc
I browsed the 350z forums and most of the good examples are on average 13k... They do look good if they are the GT type though.
ozz
I just sold my Zed, loved it but wanted something more refined (comfortable with toys) so bought a 330ci msport instead. The zed felt much quicker and handled brilliantly but the BMW is more comfortable. If you want a zed as a toy then its spot on and very reliable. But that never made it into production though did it? And it understeered like a mofo according to Top Gear. Nutty and nice though To the OP - I think Chiefgroover is your man for an experienced opinion, having driven a 350, 370 and a verr nice supra (which is for sale?) in a well.. not gentle manner so I've heard
