Kevan
Some careless muppet dropped a fencing staple on the road and unfortunately, I found it with my rear tyre. It's a Bridgestone Potenza RE05, I've spoken to a couple of tyre specialists (Micheldever being one) who have both suggested that the resultant holes could be plugged. I've never had any experience with plugs so anyone here like to comment/advise before I take the chance? TIA K.
T2 MSW
Plugs are fine as long as its not near the sidewall of the tyre. if it is then its best to replace it.
Kirk
repairs are easy to do aslong as there not on sidewall as stated above!
Kevan
Thanks guys, this one is about a third the way across a 265 tyre so it should be OK. Assuming there's no further damage inside (One of the provisos that they tyre guys both listed) K.
Thorin
It should be fine, I got a bolt through a two week old rear tyre once, right on the edge of the tread. Got it plugged and it was fine.
