Jake
People who flash their high beam at you after you've over taken them perfectly safely. People who buy petrol £10 (or less!) at a time. WTF is that about? Surely these all people don't get paid daily, so why not just fill your car up instead of going to the petrol station every day/every other day? Same as above with people at ATMs. A guy I used to work with would get £10 out of the ATM almost every lunchtime. FFS. No wonder there's always queues at ATMs at petrol stations. tbourner
I only get £10 fuel at a time, unless I'm in the Deli in which case I get £15.

jake supra
My rant would be when you do your weekly shop and the person is putting your goods through is doing it faster than you can pack them and then tells you how much it all comes to while your still packing!? What do they think "oh yeah he can get his wallet out now and pay for it now and carry on packing afterwards" F8cking retards!! perhaps that's why most of them are fat bas&ards as they seem to just love to sit there and do sod all!! and breath............... i see what ur getting at. I work in a small supermarket. im a supervisor so not on the tills. Most of the staff we employ are usless they just sit there expecting the job to do its self. but i find its the big supermarkets that are the worse. Tannhauser
One of the things that annoys me, is that people have no patients these days Everybody seems to think that their time is more important than the next person, so the result is no manners anymore. I agree. The one thing that really irritates me is other people's impatience. That mentality that regards other people as anonymous obstacles to one's personal fulfilment - pffft. Small children can't help but think like that because they haven't yet developed the ability to put themselves in someone else's shoes. But when you're a grown up, you start to realise that other people are actually separate individuals. And that by and large, while those others can be slow, indecisive, selfish and waste whole seconds of your precious time, chances are that you do the same in some other circumstances. It's such a failure of imagination to think that everybody else around you is an idiot, and somehow you aren't. And seriously, what is of such galactic importance that it actually matters if you have to wait two seconds longer at the lights?
Gaz6002
It's such a failure of imagination to think that everybody else around you is an idiot, and somehow you aren't. I'd be the first to admit I'm an idiot. The difference is, I use my imagination to think of ways around making not just my life, but also the lives of people around me, easier. I'm just not presumptuous enough to tell someone how to do their job, and responsible enough to understand the implications of being late in a job I've not been doing very long for such an unnecessary reason. SBDJ
I was annoyed the other day when my missus took our son to the GP because he had a temperature (40+ degrees) and was vomiting. He was obviously a bit upset, the docs were running quite late and the woman behind the counter said that if she couldn't stop him crying they would be asked to leave. WTF? Thank god we don't have to go through a GP for him any more
stevie_b
Good post Tannhauser. It seems a lot of people get wound up by those who don't pull their car forward immediately after filling up with fuel. Aside from the points already raised about pumps not exposing the transaction history to the cashier and concerns over stealing fuel, I don't think the petrol station forecourts are designed for people to pull forward in this way. There's usually very little spare space apart from between the pumps, and that's not ideal from a leaving-the-forecourt point of view. Filling station forecourts aren't a Time And Motion study specifically designed to find you the optimum refuelling procedure.
keancy
keancy: I can understand why they did it. The shops can get into serious bother if they serve people who then give the booze to under-agers. What alternative did the cashier have, given that the shops need to avoid being caught in an embarrassing situation at (almost) all costs? Whilst I'm sure you weren't buying it to give to your son, many other people in society would. Yeah I obviously didn't try to buy it for him but essentially what you/they are saying then is that you can no longer go shopping with your Teenage Children if you want to buy Alcohol for yourself, well that is just ludicrous to be honest!!! tbourner
Does anyone know the law on drinking age? I always thought it was that you could give alcohol to someone over 12 if you were an adult, and anyone under 12 if you were their parent or legal guardian. Maybe that's changed in the last 10 years but that's what it used to be and that seems logical to me. If you get caught handing over drinks or fags to the kids outside the shop when they ask you to buy them for them then you should get done for it, but just having someone with you when you buy it is no reason to not sell it! True, it does seem Draconian and a touch ridiculous. I can see why they do it, but there must be better ways. Did you have any other shopping as well as the alcohol? If you just had a 6 pack of Stella and your teenage son, I can see why they were suspicious, but if you had a few other grocieries, then it's just over-zealous application of guidelines.
