Homer
Not sure how this happened, but after cutting some kitchen tiles this afternoon, an hour later managed to a tiny ceramic splinter in my eyeball. It itches rather a lot (like having an eyelash in the eye), but the bugger is firmly stuck in the 'coloured' area of my eye. It's tiny, just a little dot of white when looking closely in the mirror, but can see an indentation on the surface where it's gone in. Is this one of those things that needs a doctor, A&E or priest? Ewen
The priest would only get you to kneel, put both hands on your head and then poke it out with Gods divine instrument. I'd skip that and go to A & E.

dandan
A&E mate, hope you've already gone - should be relatively easy but you'll probably come away with a yellow cheek and a bollocking about protecting your eyes! I had a nasty piece of metal swarf in my eye about a week ago that I managed to pick/scrape off the iris area but a week before this my dad had the same and he couldn't get it off. He tried to go to sleep with the intention of going to the doctor the next day but by the early hours the mild annoyance had turned to a burning pain so he had to go to A&E. It wasn't a big deal and I guess the place may have been a little quieter by the time he got there

I'm absolutely knackered now and need to get some sleep (there's no irritation when my eyes are closed), but will get down there very, very early tomorrow.
