so if i buy a F con my mates at work cannot map it maybe? sound like something apple/mac would come up with :).. whats a price for a second hand motec?.... and would motec really solve the gearbox control as the OE ecu ,

so say i buy a F con and i map it in UK and then maybe next time wants to map it in Belgium at work would not be possible?

many thanks again

You need to be a HKS power writer dude, im sure there are some near you.

SupraGTE, I would look at finding a reputable mapper near you and see what ECU he/she is comfortable using. It's all well and good getting recommendations as to what to use, but if you have no one local good enough to do it, it's pointless. It's far nicer to have someone on your doorstep rather that fly someone in to sort a problem, not to mention cheaper.

Thanks , i will as all help is welcome, any body have anybody anything bad or good to say about HKS vpc or GCC

VPC and GCC is useless unless your a UK Spec (it converts to speed density), and if so, its a little dated so would recommened the MAPECUII

AEM can be piggybacked, but they have brough out an AEM FIC which does that job for a lot less money

The engine tuning buisness is not big here, do not think it is even 5 single supras here i would be suprised if even 3 and it is 10000000people here :) and as the MOT is a pain in the ass here, even changing rims can be a problem , exhaust systems and all parts need TUV etc so , it really is MOT Straight from Hell :) it takes me 2,5hours to dover from my home so i rather go to UK:) to have somebody to map + i get english service. as there is not a big market for any real tuning parts here, therefore not many tuners, i buy 99% my parts from UK

by the way no carbon fiber parts are allowed on a car here: ) MOT=Fail... i do not know if i should cry or laugh :)

Well, if you're coming to the UK, pick a budget then a mapper you have faith in and use what they are proficient in.

For what it's worth, pretty much most things can be piggy backed so the only limiting factor will be your budget.:)

yes your are right ... just the question what piggyback :), haft to sell my AEM then

nobody running vpc?

Ancient tech, it's over fifteen years old. Even back then it was a nasty fudge with bugger all adjustment range and no timing control. Hopefully gone the way of extra injectors pre throttle body.

E-Manages run the autobox by leaving it the hell alone, one advantage of a piggyback ECU :) I would assume the MAP ECU II and others of its ilk do the same.

what is a price for a second hand Motec? expensive i guess

I personally wouldnt buy a motec, they are over priced and I dont like locked down products. There are plenty of other units that come fully unlocked which are cheaper ;)

As already mentioned, pick your mapper and accept their recommendations

OK, a good mapper max 200km from dover?

Yes talking to my Finnish mates that runs hestech , halletech ,autronic and motec and more the also say motec is good but to overpriced , and locked Ecu is a big NONONO for me as never now where im living next year :)

So and overview all has its + and - of course

AEM Stand alone = Throw in the bin with auto or take TGV expess train to nutshouse:)

VPC,GCC = old school.... suprastore most probaly have one in stock they want to sell:)

Motec = very good but expensive and locked

F con = does its job but locked

Greddy e manage , leaves auto as it but i see many complains about ign failure

so just to find a mapper and see what piggy back he recomends then

greddy ultimate ?

map ecu 2

i was offered the go to TMG/F1 and map but they are not used to aftermarket ecus, so Uk is the solution

Why don't you get your Finnish mate to slap an Autronic on for you or even re-wire your AEM to run piggy back?

Yes i would if i was in Finland :) But looking at UK and how many Supras there is in UK almost as many as Fiestas in Belgium :), so i feel more faith in going to UK and map, and all good mappers in Finland are almost high up as where santa claus lives :) ..not really bu almost , went with a Manta from1975 800km just to map in Finland ....will never forget that.... no muffler no stereo and and very hard bucket seats:)

This would be the cheapest option and although its not been done before should be no different to wiring up an autronic or motec as piggyback :search:

Why are you saying bin the AEM?

Yes thats true just haft to get somebody help me with that and map...of course not for free , otherwise this then http://www.suprastore.com/gremul.html
