Matt Harwood
On my way into work this morning, during a moment of haste, I had a loud pop from the engine bay as I let off the throttle in 3rd at about 5000rpm. This instantly resulted in the turbos becoming very loud and whooshing instead of whistling and a definate lack of any positive boost, (gets to just under zero on the gauge). I'm assuning I've either blown a hose off somewhere or split a pipe... Could be turbos but 'm not getting any real smoke from the exhaust, bit blacker than normal but no blue smoke... I've done a search on blown turbos and loss of boost and there's quite a few to read through and I havent got time to go through them all and write down all the various possibilities. Sorry for the lazyness, but can someone give me a list of probable hoses to check. - I've checked all the IC hoses and they're OK. If I rev the engine from under the bonnet, the whoosing sound seems to be coming from the turbo side of the engine roughly in the middle. I have had a quick look but things are a bit hot at the moment. Thanks for any assistance
Thorin
Definately sounds like it's just a hose popped off to me. I had a hose pop off where I'd T'd the boost gauge in, so I'd check around there too.
