scooby_doo_do
The ultima's sold and the chap has paid me by direct bank transfer - Bank has confirmed that the payment has cleared (monday). Is there anyway it can be a scam and the funds can be pulled? Just checking as he's arranged to have the car collected this weekend and taken back to the Netherlands - i've already sent off the documents to him using his own UPS account (all matches with address and his company address) Is there anything i should be panicing about? Anything i should do when the transporter comes to collect the car? Chap seems very genuine and has come over to look at the car with his wife. I've got his address/company/telephone numbers etc.. Just checking - as never sold a car overseas before and i would hate to see my blue beast taken away only to find i'm left with no money and no car... Any advice greatly appreiciated.. Thanks Craig. Todd
As long as the funds have been in your bank for 24hrs you should be OK. edit, personally I'd transfer the money into another account as soon as I got it
jevansio
I would be asking the bank themselves and not the opionion of people on a forum (no disrespect to anyone)
Todd
I'd be more likely to trust someone on here than a Banker

DannyW
We sold our R32 golf to a car finance company who hadn't even viewed the car, they rang up and wanted to buy it straight away, payed via CHAPS money transfer which is a same day transfer and can not be reversed. Once the money is in your account it is yours (or so the bank told us). A bailif who worked for them came and collected the car without inspecting it and we never heard anything else of it, this was a £15000 car at the time and was a bit worrying but all turned out ok. imi
I have hear stories where banks realise an error in the transfer (lack of funds on the other party's side, etc) 2-3 months later and claim the money back.... not sure who to trust tbh. marbleapple
I'd be more likely to trust someone on here than a Banker When you ask the banker make sure you have their name and the date and time they asked. Ideally have a witness with you. It cost Halifax £500 a few years ago for saying to me that a cheque had cleared when it hadn't.
Chris Wilson
Draw it out in cash now, it gives you a very string bargaining point! Probably fine though, if in doubt ask the bank in writing.
