Hi all,

Just wanting a bit of adivce on tyres for the Supra.

I have 18x9.5" wheels on the car (rear) and when i bought it, it had 275/35/18 tyres on. I just want to know if the width of the tyre is changable when i need some more. Could i drop down to 265's for example?

Cheers.

Ash.

Depends on the offset of wheels and the particular tyre.

I have the same size as you on the rear with 265/35 Michelin Pilot Sports.

I changed one to a Michelin Pilot Sport CUP and then had major rubbing issues on that one only. Best go for 265, but again depends on wheel offset.

More details of your rear wheels offset, which is usually stamped on the inside, will provide better info.

Why's this in Non-Supra Tecnical?

Why would the offset matter if he's going from 275 section to 265 ?

You will find everything you need to know about wheel and tyre combinations here.

I have the same size wheels, and I am fitting 295 35 18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's.

I have cut back the lip to half way across the spot welds, and fitted coil assistors to the springs.

Will let you know if it works.
