Group Policy Folder Redirection

Greetings,

I am testing Folder Redirection for a group of users. I am doing it on App data, Destop, My Docs and Start menu.

All seems to be working except if i place a shortcut on the desktop to "My Docs" it will not open but if i open my docs from explorer it works fine. Quick launch is not working due to permissions.

The shares that i am using have everyone as full control and then i am letting GP set permissions up for the individual folders.

Anyone fell over this before?

Phil

How did you create the Shortcut? Have you tried to Right click 'My Docs' and then choose choose show on desktop?

Rather than doing a folder redirection, why don't you just do it as a roaming profile? or are you wanting to get away from it downloading all their crap whenever they log on?

The shortcut problem is possibly trying to open \documents and settings\%username%\my documents rather than the new relocated ones.

Quick launch will be restricted because of the local user accounts rather than through GP
