mwilkinson
After all the good talk about Tony and the guys at Wheels in Motion I thought it was about time I sorted my car out. I have no real issues but do get dome tramlining. I have also got aftermarket suspension, wheels and recently had all the drive coponents overhauled which involved removing the rear hubs. Since then the car has not been properly set up. Hopefully the trip will sort out any issues I might have. Booked in for geo and suspension setup, but will probably get the wheel balanced again and the steering checked too. Will post up my my figures pre and post work. Multics
You will not be disappointed, Tony does an excellent job and they are cheaper than most places who do proper 4 wheel geometry. Mind you they have the best Hunter aligner, this machine is impressive
AndrewOW
I had my car done there not so long ago, and I was amazed how out of alignment my wheels were, but soon after realised how much better they were after You will not be disappointed. mwilkinson
Yeah really quite excited to be honest. I know my car needs this done regardless of how little I notice any issues. It's been on the cards for ages. Just glad I have pulled my finger out!!
mwilkinson
I have now been and had the car looked at and I am ashamed to say the wheels were all over the shot before Tony did his magic. My front toe angle was so bad that the computer flashed a warning about it. Tony was impressed that I had driven the car like it My car took about an 1 hour 20 min to do. at the end all was sorted. I must say having had such a crap setup before hand I really can feel the difference. Absolutely everything is better about how it drives and handles. I think this is probably the best £109 I have ever spent on a car. The machine is amazing and Tony let me gawk and ask stupid questions throughout. He really knows his stuff and I have come away much more knowledgeable about the geo setup on my car and some of the guff I have read on the net. I would recommend this and Wheels in Motion to anyone who has yet to do it. Massive peace of mind knowing its all properly setup. Here are a few pictures: Supra on the ramp being inspected. The computers initial diagnosis Computer representation of the position of the wheels to one another. Obviously over exagerated!! Diagnosis from different angle. AdzC
Impressive. I think my car could benefit from something like this but I don't know of anywhere local unfortunately.

HadeS
Do any one know similiar place like that around Derbyshire? What could recommend.
mwilkinson
Well worth having done, nice guys down at WIM. Yeah. Tony said you had been down to visit them quite a few times. I never realised how adjustable the Supra geo was compared to many manufacturers. Apparently most modern cars can't be adjusted to the same degree. JamieP
Yeah. Tony said you had been down to visit them quite a few times. Only up the road from me, its the only place i trust with my tyre changing, plus they fill them with Nitrogen which is a nice touch.
mwilkinson
Yeah they said they don't charge any extra for the nitrogen which I thought was good.
AndrewOW
And now I need to know what the benefits are to using nitrogen, except for keeping the tyres cooler and lighter, maybe?
Jamesy
So £109 is that for everything done mate? Some places charge x amount then add up more and more if they have to adjust camber , toe , etc etc Very good price if so.
JamieP
And now I need to know what the benefits are to using nitrogen, except for keeping the tyres cooler and lighter, maybe? Race cars have been using it for a long time, something to do with the dry air in nitrogen not being effected by heat and changing the pressure as much i think. mwilkinson
And now I need to know what the benefits are to using nitrogen, except for keeping the tyres cooler and lighter, maybe? It was my understanding that nitrogen suffers less from temp changes, prevents internal degredation of the tyre, rim and valve. It apparently is also better at maintaining a constant pressure which improves fuel economy. There's loads of stuff on the net.

Some places charge x amount then add up more and more if they have to adjust camber , toe , etc etc Very good price if so. Yeah great price. The £109 is for an hour. If the work over runs then you only pay for the hour. It's very thorough and updates in real time. Tony was able to watch the change in the wheel as he adjusted it. Therefore it's quicker than with older machines. It also helps that he has 30 years experience too
Jamesy
That really is a great price from them and ive heard nothing but praise from people who have used them
