Oil pressure and temperature take-offs

Prof. Monkey

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I come once again before your infinite wisdom to ask a humble question:

Where can I put the sensors in for a oil pressure and oil temperature gauge?

I believe lots of people use Mocal oil take off adapters, if so where can I find one? Does it work?

:thanks:

Now I must go I have much preparing to do, for my pupils - they are to learn the fine art of science and the ways of the world!

I do these remote filter heads that contain capability of taking two sensore as part of the oil filter relocation kit and they work well

Is that the black art of science or have they stopped bunging you lot in the river to see if you float yet? :)

Speaking of installing meters - Ive get an omori triple meter set waiting to go on - they are a mixture of electrical (oil temp, oil pressure) and mechanical (boost pressure). Should I be aware of anything before the install (ie. parts that I may need to ensure a simple installation).

Thanks Paul, can you give me some more details of these relocation kits? Are they just so you can have a sandwhich plate for the sensors or are they for putting the oil filter in a completely different place?

P.s. I live in East Yorkshire, where televisions are the work of trickery, roads consist of crushed up bettles and horse dung and petrol is a thick gloopy liquid we extract from the ground.

I believe that there is an off-the-shelf Lexus part that will accept an oil pressure sensor. The part number was posted up here a few weeks ago. You can put the oil temperature sensor in the sump plug. There's an off-the-shelf adapter by Blitz for that, too.

You really use them for putting in different place - not dificult just taking your time

I put mine behind the passenger headlight - so easy then for changes etc
