Just thought i would show you what i knocked up for a friends 60th birthday the other week...my own work, the box, Jams, bread rolls and biscuits,pickles. champagne,beer was done by a friend so a bit of swapping there!

 

She loved it:) looks like i got something:eyebrows: now friends want me to make some more for them:taped:

Well done Adrian. It's really satisfying making something with your bare hands, isn't it? :)

 

Considering I'd never done any carpentry since school, I managed to knock up 2 ottoman's; one in the style of my current bedroom furniture (shaker style), and the other I made into a toy box for my nephew on his 1st birthday, including his name and date of birth.

 

I'll have to take some pics and put them on here, as I am really very proud of them. :)

Yeah put them up Andrew...like you say, it is very satisfying and unique at the same time:)

 

That's a really nice idea. Bet that bet that went down a treat with the oldies! I know my old gran would have loved that

 

Quality plank nailing skills though! :thumbs:

Definately, I reckon that would bring a tear to the eye of most granparents. Having their gandchild make them somthing so heartfelt. I know mine would have. Topped with what old people like best; Homemade produce - you're on to a winner! :D

Funny guys....Grandparents are pretty much all gone, just one left and she can eat or drink after her stoke 5 years ago...all goes via a tube straight into her stomach.didnt have the heart to show my mum as she would feel hard done by...maybe i will do her one for chrimbo:)
