markybhoy86
looking to invest in a new air filter as the ones my car came with are no use, the guy who put them there was thinking 'shiney bits' rather than being any use ( there in pics in my garage) what kind is the one in this picture? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=199445 i know stock is rated the best but just looking for something that looks the part and does the just as good a job cheers M edit: just noticed the first clip is an n/a so i take it that one wouldn't fit in a TT? i know the pic is small but what type is one below? sorry :L cheers
Homer
i know stock is rated the best but just looking for something that looks the part and does the just as good a job Keep the stock one, anything else will not work as well, any pod filters is fundamentally flawed by their very nature. If you fit a pod filter you'll lose peformance, especially in traffic. Just pic any one you want except the foam type and ebay rubbish. Your call. If you really want to waste some money you can get a K&N or other lower quality filter element installed in the stock airbox, at your expense. I did back to back tests on a dyno day, there was no difference in power between Apexi and the stock paper filter and airbox. The only change came when there was no filter at all (420bhp to 428bhp at peak, no change in power delivery other than the very top end)
Gaz6002
As Homer says, Toyota weren't messing around when they built the Supra. Stock is best.
Scott
You will need a couple of pipes to get rid of those mental things thats on yours bud. The stock boxes come up quite regular if you fancy one, if not i would say the box i got is a good compromise as it is still a box as such (ARC induction kit). If you really want to go with a cone filter then i would recommend using some of the heatshielding from work, i mean the hardware store, to build a shield for it. Australia not your cup of tea then? You over there just now? Remember you will need the front and middle turbo pipes to fit a different filter. The ones you have on look completely bespoke. Scott
Blue dash kit is from Heckler, great mod. I'm in the middle of changing my gauges at the moment. I had an HKS boost gauge in but i've taken that out in favour of Digital ones. They are pretty cheap but seem accurate. I've got an Innovate AFR gauge going in too. Everything is blue and black in the interior, everything is black and red with the exterior lol.
markybhoy86
where are you ordering the gauges from? my engine bay was going to be polished but since i was away for 3months i think im going to give up on that idea, to hard to maintain, engine going to be powercoated silver with a speckle through it and blue hosing, inside is also painted black and i want it all blue as well. did u fit the dash lights?
