Guest champ_supra
After over taking a car (usually using up to 5 1/2 thousand between revs) i have noticed that when I come to stop my revs drop right down to zero, obviously causing my car to effectively stall? I have been told it could be my butterfly valve slamming shut cutting off air through the system. Where can i find the butterfly valve on my 5zigen exhaust? Or if anyone has any other ideas please do let me know. Cheers
Chris Wilson
Is this an N/A or a TT model? I would guess the butterfly in question is the throttle plate butterfly, and nothing to do with the exhaust. There's also an idle air control valve that can play up. Homer
It's a TT 6spd Chris. A gummed up IACV would be a likely cause, though faulty O2 sensor is another. IACV would be the first check. Have you had the car long?
Guest champ_supra
I have had the car since beginning of June this year. So not long at all really. Is this something I can check, repair or replace myself or is it something I would have to take to a garage? Where is the IACV located? Guest reimundo
the IACV is located on the left side of the intake-manifold . also you could have a dirty fuel filter. i would change that first , but most likely its IACV .
