I am quietly getting on with the job.

I have swept a clear patch in the snow a few times, and have fitted the UK brakes and braided hoses, the MSD Blaster coil, HKS twin power ignition amplifyer, the Torsen diff, ABS driveshaft and hub in readiness for the SSV4.

My fingers went dead with the cold. :(

The fuel regulator mounting pipework has been made up for me, but leaks and needs re-brazing, and I can't re-shim the tappets whilst the weather is so cold, my fingers would be too numb to use a micrometer.

I have a few things more to do to the cooling systems, drivetrain and aesthetics, these can be completed with numb fingers whilst I wait for the weather to warm up a little.

There are other little hold ups.

The jperformance radiator didn't fit, and the alternative ASI rad, ATI crank pulley with matching belt, oil filter sandwich plate with thermostat, aluminium one piece propshaft and transmission upgrade kit are on they're way, somewhere, and the member who sold me the oil cooler keeps forgetting to send me the banjo's. :conf:

Understandably, my recent focus has been on the inside jobs, the hybrid flappy paddle TuRD wheel is completed and on, and the dash is coming along nicely. :)

I have answered several enquiries from other 'Not Applicable' members by pm and email, because they have grown tired of 'Tiny Todger' and 'Need Another Todger' members condescending posts.

I keep 'my car' updated with any progress, the odds and sods shown in green text are the jobs remaining.

Just click the link in my signature to see how it is going.

That's funny, because I was just thinking that your posts are still sounding like that.

I'd stuck up for you in the past as I was genuinely interested in your progress.

I am working my way through the project job list.

When the AEM ECU's turn comes around, is it possible to have two maps stored, one for economy, and another for performance, and be switchable between the two?

Yup twin maps are fine, are you going over to manual box then? otherwise might be better to go with a AEM FIC?

Jamie,

Thank's for the info, but not sure what an 'FIC' might be?

Sticking with the auto box, and installing a Suprastick VV4.

The VV4 is on and offable, so will wire the AEM eco and gogo maps, to be eco with auto, and flappy paddle with gogo. :)

I remember you mentioning that now, not seen it before.

Aem FIC is a piggy back ecu, meaning you wont have problems with autobox control, info here.

That's one of the reasons I have chosen to fit the VV4, it takes the auto box out of the AEM equasion.

This unit works with N/A auto's but not T.T's.

Will fit it after the trans upgrade and cooler are in.

I can then use it in auto for the daily around town trundle, and go flappy paddle for weekend sprints and 'B' road blasting. :)

They can be a P.I.T.A, this item was posted as in stock, yet 3 weeks after payment, informed me they were on back order.

That was in November.

I have let it roll, because not found it elsewhere, and have plenty of other things to be getting on with.

They claim they will be in by mid feb.

I want to be kind to the trans, and install this, a cooler, new filter and have a complete flush before the VV4 goes in.

I don't know what power the engine currently has, but sufficient to require the extra T.T. mounting rubber to stop the Torsen twisting about.

I don't have the technical details, this kit was recomended by a friend to give a more positive gear change.

As far as I am aware, it is a set of sleeves that increase the oil pressure.

The VV4 is only compatible with the Supra auto box that has the cable from the throttle linkage to the trans.

The TT doesn't have this.

I am assured by Garrett Rowe, the man who designed and makes the SuprastickVV4, that it is not compatible with the TT auto box.

He should know.

meh, okay.....:search:

(Although I suspect it is more likely that it doesn't support the tt-a340e because it simply doesn't have enough control wires) and not related to the throttle setup at all...

Apparently it is only compatible with auto boxes that operate with 2 solenoids.

The difference between the N/A and the TT auto trans, is to do with whatever function the cable from the throttle linkage to the gearbox serves on the N/A.

This function is controlled electronically with the TT box, and is beyond the 'brain' of this unit.

Happy wire counting :)

The installation details are shown in the link below.
