I've been quoted £1200 to wrap my R33 in matt balck at Totally Dynamic http://www.totally-dynamic.co.uk/

After some thought I decided against it, it will only last a year or two max without looking tacky. Vinyl manufacturer says 5 years but I doubt so. Stonechips, bird crap and tree sap will make the vinyl look bad in no time unless the car is garaged every day and taken out rarely...

What about the heat? when you are driving especially long distances, giving the car some stick and in summer, engine temperatures, heat from underneath the car and the sills is quite hot.... Surely if a car is wrapped the original body panels will take longer to cool down and could get hotter as well affecting the original paint finish below?

Some cars can pull it off, some can't. Also depends on the firm that does the wrapping with regards to overall finish quality.

Why would it matter if the vinyl was applied properly... i.e. with no air trapped between it and the paint?
