mwilkinson
Hi mate. Just installing mine at the moment. You have done the right thing in closing off the ports on the vsv. Next as the actuator is a duel port there will be a feed going to the vsv which needs to be blocked off. The feed you need is hard to get to between #1 turbo housing and the top of the actuator. You need to put your new solenoid between these two. Also remember to seal of the vacuum pipes coming out of the old vsv. That should then be it. Could not tell from your picture but make sure your manifold vacuum feed is between the manifold and fuel pressure solenoid. Need any further help give me a shout. For ref mine is a greddy profec b2 Edited October 21, 2009 by mwilkinson (see edit history)
Ganty
Thanks for the help pal! so blocking off both sides of the vsv is correct like in this pic (red hose ignore the t piece as this is not my pic! still unsure on where to connect to between the turbo housing and the actuator? is this the pipe which is coming out of the top of the actuator in green ? if so do i need to cut this pipe and tee in to it ? if not then have you got a pic that shows this ? thanks again
mwilkinson
Yes where the green arrow points is where the pressure feed for the new solenoid is. Basically you need to insert your solenoid between the pipe that goes from the turbo to the actuator. On my boost controller the port marked "com" is connected to the actuator side and the "no" port then goes back into the turbo. No pictures I'm afraid. mwilkinson
Yep that's it mate. Basically your new solenoid sits between 1 and 13 on the diagram.

Basically your new solenoid sits between 1 and 13 on the diagram. great! so does that mean i need to tee in to the hose or remove it and connect one hose either side? mwilkinson
So it all worked out in the end. Good to hear. Did you have to deviate from my instruction or did it all work as I said? The reason why I ask is that I have yet to finish mine and if it worked for you I will know to go ahead with my own.

All I have to do now is connect up the vacuum pipes to the solenoid. The controller is powered up and seems to be reading the same as my boost guage which is a bonus. Then its a case of working out how to use and configure the unit Better get reading the instruction manual.
