Max Headroom
Our stores as a whole in my opinion do give a far better service than the likes of Specsavers etc!! Who do you know that worked there?? I wouyld have to pull you up on that one, I worked for Specsavers and the service our customers received was second to none and the glasses were competitively priced compared to some other opticians I knew. A complete pair of glasses with lenses that had scratch resistant coating for £25! could you beat that, along with the after sales service provided? far
I used XERAPOL on acrylic and it works like magic. I'm not sure if this would work on glass and if they have a coating then it may take this off as well.
far
Apparantly it does work on glass too - could be worth a shot? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XERAPOL-Plastic-Glass-Scratch-Remover-Acrylic-Repair_W0QQitemZ260323421485QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3c9c7c2d2d

That maybe be true and yes you do great prices but in my opinion the quality of specsavers lenses are pants compared to the brands like Nikon that my company supply Yes they are more money but quality wise i feel they are better as my parents used to have specsavers glasses but they never lasted long enough the coatings ended up flaking off and they scratched so easily even with the hard coating on there. So Pentax lenses as supplied to Specsavers are of less quality than Nikon? If your parents had coatings flaking off and they returned to Specsavers then something could have been done about it, Specsavers is renowned for its no quibble approach to dealing with customer concerns. In the 4 years working at Specsavers I came across perhaps 5 pairs of glasses which had a flaking coating and each time they were sorted to the customers satisfaction. And the hard coating is "scratch resistant" not bullet proof, I do not know how your parents handled their glasses so I cannot comment
Miguel
My feedback would'nt have been to good recently as I supplied Matt Harwoods last pair and look at the state of his car . LMFAO. Some glass went into them badboys!

In my experience the likes of Hoya, Nikon and Zeiss are far superior than the specsavers own lenses but obviously if on a budget they are OK. Kopite
In terms of quality of lenses, at the end of the day they're all from the same plastic resin. Specsavers vary, as do Boot, D&A and Vision Express etc. I've found the smaller scale stores give better service as they can focus more on each customer, the larger stores are more of a slag's night out - "in and out as fast as you can and move on to the next person"
