Alex
I'm 20/15 (better than 20/20) after the operation and I was like that from day 2. But I have micro bubbles under the flap so until that's absorbed I have to deal with star burst effect.
Mike
But I have micro bubbles under the flap so until that's absorbed I have to deal with star burst effect. what does that look like and how long does it last for?
benkei
Staburst effect - is that where lights look like they've exploded? I get that. I also have a stigmatism, and my right eye is lazy, I see mainly from my left. I keep trying to stengthen my weak eye, but I get double vision if I use my right (weak) eye as my main eye. I just want to be stot in the eyes with a lazer to make it all better!
Dash Rendar
Right, the one-week results are in. I saw the surgeon today, and it turns out I'm now 20/20 (in the eye that was treated). Hurrah! BUT, I'm now slightly long-sighted, with a +0.75 prescription, which apparently often happens when treating astigmatism. As a result, my eye is currently struggling to focus on stuff close up, which probably explains the VDU issues. That said, the surgeon said there was a good chance my vision will settle somewhat, and that the long-sightedness will improve over the next few weeks. Apparently, the settling time for astigmatism treatments tend to be a lot longer than other prescriptions. So, it's back to work tomorrow. Darnit. I was enjoying lounging around doing nothing. Thorin
How bad was your astigmatism? I have slight astigmatism in one eye and didn't realise that things might be more complicated.
Dash Rendar
I was 1.25 in one eye (left) and 0.75 in the other. The 0.75 was too low to treat, but the 1.25 was treated, and I'm told the astigmatism is now gone.
Thorin
I'm 0.5 or 0.75 I think. I can never remember.
