GT35R + AEM= running rich :(

Hi All,

i have this problem for a while now, every now and then my car runs very rich. 10afr on my gauge and black smoke in my mirror!!

i cant make it happen and it may not happen everyday, sometimes comming up to a roundabout, sometimes just cruising along at normal road speeds and sometimes it may be just ticking over. it does cut the car out but not everytime.

so far i have gotten my PE650 injectors flow tested, all ok ( although the report said they were actually 740's?)

changed the plugs bkr8eix

changed the wideband sensor in the exhaust

im now lost and confused, i dont want to keep annoying Ryan g as he is a busy man so im hoping for some input from you guys.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

lol, no its already been mapped by ryan back in March. this intermittent has happend recently everything was running perfect til now, the ONLY thing iv done to the AEM was try to get a log file off it from the data log..i dont like even doing that in case i press the wrong button in there!

Thanks bignum, i dont have a gauge but maybe ill get my hands on the fpr and swap that out,

I'd put a pressure gauge in the system and monitor fuel pressure when it plays up first. It could also be a sensor issue, for example the ecu is told the engine's at minus 4C, or similar. Can you log sensor readings on that ECU?

i belive you can but i dont like going in there with little experience incase i break Ryan's map!! but i know what you mean, something like the coolant temp sensor

Email me your map and log and maybe there's something I can see in there......([email protected])

Thanks

Cody

Thanks Cody, i might take you up on that! ill see if i find the log where it ran bad for a few seconds

From the initial looks of your logs........it looks like the map sensor is either wired wrong or not reading correctly...........send me your map!

Just an update in case anyone else has a similar problem, i cleaned the idle air control at the rear end of the intake with carb cleaner. so far things are looking good and i have gone through a full tank of petrol with all kinds of different driving, traffic etc and it seams to have fixed it
