Active Front Spoiler

*sigh* I was talking about the fact that imi doesn't appear to have bought the whole lot, because he only paid £25 for his setup, whatever that is.

some people want to sell the plastic / rubber bit only for £100  others sell the whole kit for £25....go figure.

Either way, posting the entire thing would cost almost £25 in courier costs no doubt - it's massive and weighs a lot too!

 - hence i picked it up :p

If you want it all to work as Toyota did - there are a lot of parts you would need to get - but if you just get the spoiler setup and motor, you can use Garfy's manual controller

Ive commented on that "controller" previously. In my setup the Active spoiler ECU has been bypassed and I have it in manual mode without any fancy controller (unless it was on the car when I bought it 6 years ago - doubt it).

I did Volunteer for anyone to have a look at my setup to figure out how it has been done.......

The only reason I brought it up was that Martini paid 6 times the amount you did - and in the interests of users browsing the forum for the same thing, I thought it important to represent the true value of both setups, rigid and active. I wish I hadn't bothered now :D

imi, just looked at your garage and see you have software showing the speed of your car on your screen. How did you set that up? is it on GPS?

I have a carpc with centrafuse in mine and would like to add this kind of functionality....but without ODBII I din't think you can.

much more than speed - temps, boost, AFR, etc - hooked into the ECU in my case (AEM).

Yeh, thanks Gaz

The entire reason I am posting is that the OP came along and didn't know how much to sell it for.

In the interests of community spirit, I advise him over £100 as I have seen more than one go for this.

If he came along and said "£25 to first taker" I wouldn't have said anything other than "I'll take it". :D

You haven't said what you paid £25 for.

I paid for the motor, spoiler and all housings. Someone wanted £500 for it all - on supraforums.com, Ryan2Bar sold one to me for £120 (much happier with that). You seem to have got a bargain, well done.

Had it not been for you some muppet would have advised £500 for it....

Think £100 for the whole kit is a reasonable price; anything less is a bargain and I am thrilled to have got one :)

So did you get the entire package, ECU, motor, spoiler and switch for £25? If so, that's a bargain.

Already answered this earlier on in the thread.

How have you got it connected to the screen? Car-PC? If so, what connector are you using?

AEM uses a 9pin serial connector.

Well no, you didn't confirm which parts you got for £25 but still, whatever you think. Seeing as I paid double what did for just the plastic bit - and that was a good deal - I think it was fair to assume you didn't get the whole lot. Anyway, I'm out of this discussion now.

Update:

Okay so I have just spoken to the guy at the garage and he has told me, he has taken off the rubber, the bracket and the motor which is all attached as one, thats what I was told, this is all at the front of the car.

So what else is needed? I asked him for the ecu, he said hes not aware of where its located? Anyone have a pic of where it is?

need to remove the dash panel as it is behind the stereo; so all that needs to be removed.

Okay so I have updated my first post, this is now available as the rubber spoiler, bracket and motor, basically everything from the front of the vehicle, I do have the ecu but am not willing to risk taken my dash apart and look for it.

As there has been so much interest in this, I thought it would only be fair to run an auction style thread. I will run an auction on here until Friday the 30th of October, til 12 am.

The buyer will have to collect from a garage in Torquay, Devon. The buyer is more than welcome to also arrange his own courier.

So far the highest bidder has been Edd_T with £150.

Please place any further bids on this thread.

Thank you for your interest.
