Kevin W
I just had the dreaded heater matrix failure, so I blocked the pipes to the heater as explained on other threads. I bought myself a 12V electric heater instead which works from the cigarette lighter - but it seems to have blown the fuse. Funny thing is I checked fuse no. 10 in the driver's kick panel and it is fine. Could there be another fuse that may have blown somewhere? Everything else seems to work OK. Thanks! tony1
You may need to pull the dash panel off and check you have not pushed the connection off the back of the cigarette lighter. I made the same mistake. Checked all the fuses and they were fine. Turned out i put the sat nav plug in too far and pushed the conector off. Easy fix if it is that, should only take 10/15min. pistonbroke
I've seen this happen, the guy I sold my old supra to brought it back to me a week after selling it saying his dials weren't working (it's where I took the live from). Turns out he plugged the sat nav in too hard as above. The cig lighter is probably the shoddiest bit of the supra.
Kevin W
Thanks guys, really helpful!! I took the dash out - how easy is that! I discovered that the cigarette lighter has a tiny in-line fuse built into it which had gone. I bypassed that and now it works fine. I also changed the fuse from a 15A to a 20A just in case... Thanks. Kevin
