Worst come back ever.

Evidently everyone who thinks it's funny hasn't had it happen to them and don't have the brains to imagine what it would be like.

While I agree with your first statement, although I do like a good mum joke, I reckon most people have been splashed by a car driving past in the rain. I also think that most people realise how annoying it is.

In fact, it happened to me only this week. While I was walking to footy on Monday, I got caught out by a bus driving past, rather close to the kerb I should add.

With the soaking bottoms of my trousers still fresh in my mind, I did giggle at the tsunami of a wave that engulfed those poor nippers.

I do however think, while it was out of order, the outcome was not much different from many a practical joke. Although it was to the misfortune of the kids, it was quite funny.

My main problem was the dangerous driving, which is why I also agree with the prosecution.

Nevertheless, I am surprised at the level of feelings on this one. I didn’t expect such a response when I initially posted the video link, there are far worse things that have happened this week: only today poor Leona was punched in the face at a book signing :(

I've been from stock to single, through BPU, BPU+, BPU++, AA truck, RAC truck, MFI truck and more over the years.

The last 56 weeks I've not even driven her

I'll raise you a car trailer, a wall, hell and back, 100,000 pounds and 112 weeks without proper driving..

:hang:

I dont think being splashed is the main problem or complaint.. The thing from that video that worried me was seeing someone accelerate, downhill, in not-so-great driving conditions - and continue accelerating through standing water..

Just doesnt really make sense why you would take that risk.. maybe im being over paranoid about driving in the wet.

Maybe that's my problem with it, because I can't stand practical jokes, I'm an absolutely terrible sport when it comes to being laughed at in any way.

kids eh?

I'm with Terminator.. these people were twats and they deserve to die.

Don't think I would go quite that far:blink:, but a public flogging while suspend by their (fingernails - changed as this is not members only), ought to do it.;) Seriously they certainly should receive some punishment due to the premeditated nature of their actions that led to the incident, and the subsequent publication of the event on the internet.

What really concerns me is there seem to be a growing acceptance among a minority, that it is OK to select complete strangers, at random, then do something unpleasant to them, just for amusement, with total disregard for them as a person. Perhaps, as in this case, even filming it and posting the evidence on the internet to gain respect from like minded individuals, because it is seen to be cool, to have a laugh at someone else expense.

This very egocentric behaviour, and lack of maturity required to empathise, is something that normally young children grow out of in infant/primary school, certainly the majority will have grown out of it, by the time they leave secondary school. A very small percentage carry these social inadequacies trough adolescence and early adulthood and beyond.

I fail to understand, why people can't see that this behaviour is self centred, immature and totally devoid respect for another person and as such fundamentally wrong.

:yeahthat:

I'm proud of my ability to empathise, even though it makes me really squeamish (nearly fainted in hospital with my mum when she'd broken her wrist, could handle looking at the funny sticky out bone bit). I know it's only water but I'd be pissed off and ready to hurt someone if it had been me.

No-one disagrees with that statement. Well I hope no-one does. But the world is not a fairy tale like Disney films and primary schools make out.

If anything I'd rather have been exposed to pr*ck like behaviour earlier in life than be prepared for an utter shock after you leave school and uni and realise how harsh the world is.

Getting splashed falls very low on the pecking order of what idiots will do to p*ss you off in life for no reason other than amusement...

Some of you complain "o no the innocent kiddies" but laugh wholeheartedly when some of the big posters jest and make fun out of newbies on here when they ask innocent questions.

Yet more hyprocrisy on this forum. Not implying you do that Mr Terminator but I know many mods and other people on here do, yet they jump to the rescue of the kiddies.
