Ace Posted October 13, 2009 Share Posted October 13, 2009 At long last, I've joined the ranks of ownership - a slim edition, 250GB HDD. Can't wait to see how it looks through the HDMI cable on my Bravia widescreen. Have also ordered Metal Gear Solid 4 and COD: Modern Warfare to tide me over until something really worthwhile comes out (GT5 seems an age off, and FFXIII even further away). Little big planet is for kids, i lasted 5 mins on it before yawning. Everyone says COD 4 but i couldn't get into it, if thats your kind of game then you will love it. At the moment (For me anyway): NFS Shift Tiger Woods 2010 Fifa 2010 Batman Arkham Asylum WET Battlefield 1943 (similar to COD4 gameplay but less hassle IMO) I would recommend getting a few bluray films. Assasins Creed 1 was very repetative but they've added a load of new ideas into the 2nd one plus alot more weapons/moves etc so i'm i'd still say it was worth a try before completely discounting it as it was a good game in its own right first time round. Dirt 2 is a good game aswell. Or, you could ditch the PS3 alltogether and get an Xbox I've had both and i easily preferred the Xbox. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I very nearly traded it but gave it one last try, after not touching it for several months..and the community levels make the game, some of my friends make levels too..it's great fun! However, we all like different things.. Agreed on the Uncharted comments..the 1st was just awesome! Lots of demos to try on the store..so do some downloading and 'try before you buy'.. I'm sure alot of PS3 owners would disagree with that...or bring up the fact that you dont have to pay to go online on PS3....you get what you pay for i say FALLOUT 3 is a really good game. Alot more ppl use/have they're mic's on Xbox so you can chat more freely and have a laugh while playing. 3.) I think the Xbox controller is better suited to FPS than PS3's. 4.) Far less Americans !! Not that i dislike them, they just lag the room like hell for us. I almost dont want to post this as i know i'm prob gonna be hung quartered and branded a liar, but it is my opinion after all lol. Resistance Fall of Man 2 Little Big Planet Killzone 2 Motorstorm Half Life 2 : The Orange Box (not PS3 only tho) Super Stardust HD (£3 on the online store - asteroids in HD) Riff (online store - manic HD small shooter)) Pain (online store) Warhawk (online store - multiplayer online war) Pixel Junk Monsters (online store - tower defence) Think that'd keep you going. My mate bought Uncharted 2 for the PS today and says graphically its amazing, but GOW2 for the Xbox was equally amazing so its splitting hairs really. For me it comes down to playability, i have more fun on my Xbox than i did on my PS3 so there was only ever one logical choice for gaming. For everything else, PS3 wins, its still a great console. If you've never tried online gaming before then prepare yourself for sleepless nights and crazy controller throwing antics as its consumes your very being LOL. okay, bit over the top maybe, but it is definitely addictive Playing games online is infinitely better than playing story mode. FPS's really come into the own online, as do racing games. mkirby Posted October 14, 2009 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I used to have the xbox hd and ps3 and sold the xbox, for me the graphics are similar and up until recently the xbox had the better games but sony has finally got its act together and got all the right games back so now i think its a non brainer, there similar prices, similar games and the ps3 is a higher spec overall machine Must admit i am borrowing another xbox to do the new halo but still wont be buying one. I play COD5 now my old china, most ppl say its crap but you have to move with the times IMO (except with GOW....GOW2 is an abomination !)
