2soops
Hi Every One. Im new to this so please be gentle. I have a TT 6sp which idles at 2000rpm when cold, then settles down to about 600rpm when warm. No other running problems at all. It used to idle at about 1200rpm when cold so something is definately wrong. I have checked IACV which i think is okay, but the piston only moves out small increments when you earth the pins in rotation. Is this normal. I checked on the price for an IACV from Toyota, but as usual they want an unreasonable £500.00. Anyone got any ideas?
pistonbroke
When it gets colder, which it has done recently down in London (last night was bloomin freezing !!), the Supra can and does idle that high when first started. Mine hasn't got to 2000rpm, but it's been close. I doubt there's anything wrong with it mate, sounds normal to me.
2soops
Thanks mate, i know what you mean about weather. I leave for work at 4.30am and its always cold. My 2000rpm tick over sounds even louder at that time of night. Luckily no complaints from neighbours yet!!!! Mine idles at 2000rpm when cold, even in the summer.
