Dnk
That's it though mate......funds. It's 1k to get the turbos done. I've been saving for ICE stuff for months, but the money is now going on getting the tubos done. I've had the car for nearly a year with no stereo, it's a good job the 2jz is a nice sounding engine. Thats a cheap re build on the turbos, i was quoted getting on for £1500 when i last enquired. Surely you could pop a cheapy in there for £

Surely you could pop a cheapy in there for £50 You have to shop around a bit, CR turbos are tried and tested with several members having had their turbos worked on by them with good results. It's £600 for the overhall, with the rest being labour. As for the stereo, I don't use the car daily so no stereo is not really an issue
TLicense
It could be worse.... I'm having a similar symptom, and my turbo's are £1800 each.

jaymdee
Ok, mine has been cured with refurbed turbos, all is smokeless again in the world of Pistonbroke...............good times Hi mate can you PM me details please? eg, are they CR Turbos, how much & did you do the work yourself, if so how hard/easy, or get a garage to do it? cheers
pistonbroke
CR turbos did the work on refurbing them. Total cost for new seals, shafts, uprated internals with new impellers and new actuators £839. Supraturboschris removed and refitted them for me, but having spoken to Paul whiffen about doing the work, you're looking at £500 labour to remove and refit. The easiest way of doing it if you haven't got a trusted indy garage local to you who knows supras, is to probably get Paul Whiffen to do the lot. He can supply stage 1 refurbed hybrids fitted for about £1500. A little more money, but you get it all done under one roof. I managed to save a little money by utilising supraturbochris's skills with a spanner.
