lexsum
2l subaru engine - rwd - would you consider it in future? (if they ever actually make it and it is not yet another toyota concept sports car that never sees the light of day.) http://www.theage.com.au/drive/motor-news/ft86-toyotas-sports-car-revealed-20091007-glsf.html

Mike
I think the word you are looking for is "repost" At least twice.. it was a Celica at one point
bigbloodyturbo
Looks nice, i wonder if it will have the originally proposed 2.0ltr subaru effort or the newer 2.5, don't know much about subaru's other than they sound nice. Either way it looks like a nice return to fun cars from toyota, their last celica was cr@p and the mrs spider thing wasn't much better and neither of them had any turbo's. Gaz6002
It's based on the Corolla AE86, so I'd say it's the new one of them.

Kirk
i dont understand why they dont just take this platform, drop a high powered turbo engine in, 6 speed manual, and badge it a supra. Gotta admit it is damn good looking
The Raven
Auto express claim that at the car show it was labeled "celica" but might not ever carry the badge It will have an N/a 2ltr lump and cost around 20k.
tDR
It is intended to be the spiritual successor to the 'Hachi-Roku' AE86 Corrolla, hence the FT-86 badging. Good formula with the layout, decent looks too but shame about the colour in the pics - Grandad burgandy! Just need to get the price right for such a car. I wonder if it will become a hit with the drifters in future - the ingredients are there, assuming the weight is sensible. It's also crying out for a turbo - surely the turbo version of the boxer will make its way into the engine bay or even better an evolution of the 3S-GTE with vvti etc. Cheers, Brian.
