Between him and his wife they manage to crash every car they have. I have been to the bdyshop who does all his repairs. The Nasseems are probably his biggest customer. Last time I was there the Prince was having his Ferrari repaired along with his wife's 4x4!!

The former boxing world champion Prince Naseem Hamed was arrested yesterday after a man was seriously injured in a crash with his sports car.

Mr Hamed's car was involved in a crash with a golf and a Mondeo

He was being questioned last night with two other men on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury and allegations that they attempted to pervert the course of justice.

The 31-year-old was arrested after his Mercedes Benz car was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Golf and a Ford Mondeo in Sheffield earlier.

The injured driver was trapped in the Volkswagen and had to be airlifted to the Northern General Hospital, with a suspected broken leg and fractures to both arms. A female passenger in the car also received cuts and bruises in the crash.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "As a result of a road collision, three men have been arrested and taken into custody. A 31-year-old and two 26-year-olds are helping us with our inquiries. They have been arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and also on allegations of attempting to pervert the course of justice."

The crash, which the spokesman described as "complicated", happened at around 2.30pm. Naseem and the two 26-year-olds were arrested at a house near to the scene of the crash.

Police said they were trying to establish who was driving the car. He said one of the 26-year-old men under arrest had been taken to hospital, after suffering from chest pains.

The occupant of the Mondeo is not thought to have been seriously injured in the crash.

I'm a member of http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk as well as here and they were recently on abotu Naseem driving like an idiot (e.g. overtaking 4 cars on a blind bend in a 30 limit doing 50~60+). One chap said he even phoned the police to tell them and they laughed and said he was always driving like that. Makes my blood boil. :complain:

wasnt that thread on sheffiledforum dated 2003......not recent but nevertheless relevant.....his driving antics seem to be known by the police..

I know this sounds daft and some will hate me, but I think they should introduce a licence structer that relates to the power of the car you are driving, so that if it is above say 280bhp you have to take an advanced High Performance Driving Test.

Its like any dick brain can get a licence in a Nissen Micra..then the day after they pass they can go and buy a McClaren F1 or a Merc McClaren after driving a 1.1 for a couple of lessons!

:complain:
