Terminator
I have just had a very interesting discussion with a tuning company. They told me that there were 6 different types of turbo on the MKIV, not all are interchangable between cars. Any one heard this before. I don't want to get a set that don't fit the car. Steve Cargill
At a guess there each one of the twins is different. Then there is UK and J spec, possibly if the VVTi has a different type then there are your 6 different turbos.

Yes I see that but I was being told that taking a set of Jap turbos off one jap car and trying to put them on another would probably not fit because the would not match. I was told the only way to find out was to take my set off and offer up the new set and see if they would fit. This was news to me. I could see the three types of car thing being a problem, I thought guys in the state were swapping turbos every week.

Branners
I do remember Leon saying theres a wide range of part numbers for the turbos so its possible they are different. But what I would expect to find is that the import turbos are all the same manifold etc even with different part numbers, then the US and UK should be the same. So if the turbos came off an import then they will fit an import. JB
Terminator
Thanks John that was what I was expecting to hear. I guess the problem would be if the exhaust manifold had loadsw of different part numbers. The matching my be a problem if you did not use your ooriginal turbos for Hybrids.
